Ostuni (Brindisi) Italy

After thinking a long about the life meaning (from the Kantian 'criticism of pure caciotta', to the Hegelian '42° spirit phenomenology', the Marxian 'religion is the people's cup'... in conclusion we have pondered to the 'loathing' recalling Sartre ), me and Remo (the one in the photo with long hair...), and I have decided to fulfll anold dream of ours: to let the Ostunese people and the tourists to the White City (Ostuni) eat well, enjoying ourselves with them. The Hostaria Chez nojo is a beginning construction century (1900), with beautiful double sail arched and only 7 tables (because we hate the confusion!) The plates are indeed typical and genuine. The ingredients are exclusively local: from the meat, to the fish, cheeses andso on . French kitchen? Naaaaaaa . Mexican kitchen? Naaaaaa . The name of the restaurant is taken from the italian movie 'Totò, Peppino e la malafemmina'(the scene in which the two ask the alert one: ' Nojo vulevam savuar in order to go, where we must go, for where WE HAVE TO GO? ) . Therefore ' Chez nojo ' does not mean other that... ' From us ' .

Remo is Ostunese and he’s an ex P.O. managerwith the cabaret bad-habit. Because of his bashful and reserved temper he has never proposed himself with the proper obstinacy. Someone could remember the group he acted in: Anonima Cabaret, which took part in 'Domenica in' TV programme, too...Lately he has been the protagonist of a series of comic movies, finalists at 'Massimo Troisi' award : “Microfilms with back-titles” (click here to see them).

Franco has been living in Ostuni for 40 years. He endevoured not to be a musician (drummer), a psychologist (actually he is), a director (see the above Microfilms). A great everlasting passion: cooking. In the summer he organizes tasting dinners at his home, asking his friends to come round, and guess why on that day they are all and always on holidays :-(

Come to meet us, come to visit us, except on monday (if it's not a festival day)
